Did you know that Hugo Boss used to be the manufacturer of the nazi uniforms?
Hugo Boss started his clothing line in 1924. However, due to the economic climate he faced bankruptcy. In 1931 he joined the nazi party, who promissed to put an end to unemployment, and became the manufacturer of nazi uniforms. To meet demand in later years of the war, he used about 30 to 40 prisoners of war and about 150 forced laborers.
In 1946, after the end of the war he was considered an activist and was stripped of his voting rights, his capacity to run a bussiness and was forced to pay 100,000 marks as a fine. He died 2 years later but his business survived.
